History of Oktoberfest
I will introduce about history of Oktoberfest. Oktoberfest is one of the most famous events in Germany. This is held from middle of September to the beginning of October in Munich. The original "Oktoberfest" occurred in Munich, on October 18, 1810 for the commemoration of marriage of king of Bavaria and Princess Therese. Munich is the capital city of Bavaria. So this is important event of Bavarian culture.
But now people celebrate autumn harvest and the beginning of a new beer brewing season in Germany. About six million people attend every year, and drink a lot of beer and eat foods. Participants wear Bavarian folk costumes. This festival will be the 200th anniversary next year.
